Samifet Lost at Sea The galley Samifet has been lost in the Sea of Riches on 25th Middle Stok with only three survivors. The ship was sighted stricken in a storm by the Beryl sloop Seasons Courser, which was unable to provide assistance beyond rescuing the survivors, two passengers and a muruch crewman. The unseasonably violent storm may herald an early and severe winter for sailing in the Sea of Riches. Since the falling stars sighted above Jade 24th Early Stok, several other ships have been sunk or declared lost within the Sea of Riches. Assemblage of Khalq Declares Attendance of Kurultai Pomoschnik Balbala Khushk, representative of the Assemblage to Allied Command has declared the Assemblage’s intent to send observers to the kurultai in Three Banners Pass. In what may be a conciliatory move, she declared, “The Assemblage acknowledges the will of the people of the Keizai, and sends emissaries to their gathering in the spirit of solidarity.” The Baltine Ambassador provided comment only via his secretary, stating that the Princes of Keizai are renowned for fierce protection of their sovereignty. The kurultai will be held in Late Grota, and may extend the territory of the Princedoms to the northern reaches of the Keizai mountains into Bracken. Harbor Guard Helpless Against Criminal Outrage! A daring robbery against Scales of Gold jewelers demonstrates the so-called King of Roots and Rafters remains at large despite the Harbor Guard’s destruction of his gang in Middle Las. Meanwhile, a series of murders in the House of Beauty have been revealed to be ritualistic in nature. The Harbor Guard has been unable to answer these criminal threats, facing hostility from the people of Yaskel, where the King is believed to hide, and lacking clever investigators to discern the occult perpetrators of the murders. The Past and Present Synod is debating a new tithe to be paid via a tariff on imported goods. Proceeds will expand the Harbor Guard. Trade War Between Old and New? Representatives of the Settlers Council of Far Soneka are alleging anti-competitive practices by trading companies of the Svatran Republic. Svantran companies use the control of roads through the Soneka Spur to control merchants in the new state. Settlers now claim that the trading companies are using yanta transport to further undercut Sonekan commerce. The Svatra Republic was the site of major anima mills prior to their ban following the Gate War, and has the highest population of yanta in the known world. Yanta hike tirelessly, and can be induced to work for less pay due to their minimal needs. |
